This obviously makes no sense.  If the Euro can buy so much, why would
it take 6-7 euros to equal $1-2?   The euro is actually about 1.5
euros to the dollar.

a night.    You could easily spend a lot more than that in many places
in the USA.

The dollar is certainly one component of the increased cost of oil.
However, let;s look at the actual facts.  Five years ago, the Euro was
1.10, now it's 1.55, an increase of 41% against the dollar.   Five
years ago, crude was $30, today it's $127, an increase of 323%.
Clearly it's incorrect to attribute the vast majority of the increase
in price of oil to the falling dollar.   If this falling dollar theory
was even remotely correct, why is it that the price of everything else
we im****t, from Japanese cars to French wine haven't tripled in price?

Finally attributing the dollar decline to the Iraq war clearly has no
basis.
