'94 had the Vortec with CPI. Leaking fuel nuts and sticky poppet nozzles
abound in them.
It could be that the pressure regulator failed and is dumping enough
extra fuel that the cat. destroyed itself trying to burn it all off.
I've still got my '94 in the yard. Slowly stripping off the good parts
and selling them.
