I did have a howto somewhere for the 116 which is about the same. You 
need to take the entire unti out (including the matrix) and drain the 
coolant (before)

It's a sod, frankly, but is done from within.

 From memory:

Centre console
radio console
heater controls
matrix coolant feeds

8 nuts (might only be 4) at the top corners of the blower unit.
