I got the tire replaced anyway, but I still don't like the argument: I
talked to an expert at the dealer while picking up the car, and he
repeated the message in more details: 'a new tire has 8mm of profile,
and your other tire 3mm, and that 5mm difference results in the ABS
system getting confused and generating warnings'
I have no clue how ABS operates, but this profile difference results
in a 3(.14) cm circumferential difference on a total of about 200cm,
which is <2% (so spinning speed difference is also <2%). I wonder if
ABS is reacing on such small differences: I did not calculate, but I
can imagine if you take a tight cornet the speed difference is more!
Any more ideas?
