a bad decision....

by "simon steel" <simon@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 17, 2008 at 07:12 PM

Can confirm that fords that are 1'6" deep will wreck Alfa 156 diesel
engines.

It was a bad decison to take a shortcut through the lanes via the ford.
(which I've been through a few times before)
Thankfully I made it all the way out before the car died....

Car is at the dealer awaiting investigation, but judging by the huge
clunking noise it made when the AA man tried to restart it, the bill will
be
big....
thank god it is a company car..

Any one else experienced this... what is likely outcome...?
Suspect that best outcome might be bent valves, but would not be surprised

if conrods have also gone for a burton...

Now running about in a temporary BMW 1 series 1.6, which (worryingly) I
have
to say I quite like...!
