Fact is the cheapest, most efficient cars were the Honda/Nissan sub
compacts built in the early 1980's.
Honda Civic 1300 FE - 40+ mpg city and 52+ mpg highway
Nissan Sentra MPG - 40+ mpg city and 55+ highway
No batteries, computers, no electric motors (except for the wind****eld
wipers) etc. The Honda s****ted their normal Civic interior which was
plush as compared to the Nissan's spartan interior looked like it was
built in Eastern Europe. Hence, the Honda was slightly heavier thatn the
Nissan and probably a tad more durable as well.
But, it would (by gov'ment standards) be illegal to build such a car
today. No air bags, no this, no that... You get the picture. Guv'ment
interference at its pinnacle. Why worry about the greatest safety
consideration which (In my opinion) is the nut behind the wheel?
Luckily, I have found this very Honda model plus a spare parts car.
Yessir, the guv'ment can stick their mandates whar' the sun don't ****ne...
