If you're really serious, and you are not able or qualified to inspect
the car personally, go to www.hemmings.com and look for a professional
appraiser who is close to the car. Pay him/her $250-$300 or so for a
detailed and competent inspection, then make your decision.

There are people on this group who can advise you whether the price is
reasonable for the car AS DESCRIBED, but none who can tell you if the
car actually is what the owner represents it to be. (Well, there might
coincidently be someone on the group who lives across the street, but
you would have to discount their input for possible conflict of
interest.)
