Not so. I bought an HID set to fit E36 aftermarket angel eye units two
years ago for just over 100 gbp and they've come down in price since. Of
course not all lamp units will accept the HID bulbs which are longer than
tungsten. In my case, however, the conversion is very successful and
p***** the UK MOT.
