I asked for help on the price of the transmission ****ft cable and the
hour(s) required to R&R it. Ours had gotten to the point after three days
where it took great effort to ****ft between the Park, Drive and so on.

This is a follow up re****t after repairs. I have a terrific mechanic that
I
take this car to for repairs. He took it in this morning and called me
about
2 hours later and said he checked the cable at the transmission and then
pulled the steering column down and was able to get at the rest of the
cable
and inspect it.
He said the original grease installed at the factory had dried up to the
point where it was caked and he had to dig it out. He then re-lubed the
cable and it works like new now.
I am posting this for any mechanics, Techs and owners who might experience
something similar problems on older Cadillacs and other GM models. Hope it
helps someone else.
