2004 Cadillac Deville DTS Transmission ****fting Harshly into 1st and 2nd gears from Park, Reverse, or Neutral.

by srg963@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Dec 14, 2006 at 04:28 AM

I was driving my car home the other day and noticed it starting to
****ft really hard between the gears. My house was a mile away, so I
drove it home and removed everything in preparations to take it to the
Cadillac service shop. Once i got there, it wasn't ****fting hard
anymore. The problem now seems to only be occurring when ****fting into
second or first gear from N, R or Park. When ****fted into first or
second gear, the car makes a thump and jerks forward a bit. This is
not normal for this car. I've owned 2 and driven several, and I've
never had this problem. This only happens when ****fting directly into
second or first gear from neutral, reverse, or park. Once it's in
Drive or third gear, everything ****fts fine, up and down. It's just
the initial ****ft from Park, Reverse or Neutral into Second or First
gear that I am having a problem with. I also had a code 1811 which
refers to a internal transmission problem, but the Cadillac guys said
that my transmission only needed reprogramming. I still have the harsh
****ft into 2nd or 1st gears, so reprogramming was not the answer.

Anything sound familiar, or any clues. I'm still under factory
warranty and I'm planning on taking the car back within the next week
for this same problem.
