Reference: 99 DeVille with automatic transmission ****ft lever located on
the steering column.
The transmission ****ft lever on my car has gotten increasingly hard to
move
.. I removed the ****ft cable at the point where it attaches to the
transmission ****ft post to determine whether the binding was in the
transmission or in the ****ft linkage between the steering column and the
transmission. With the cable removed from the transmission, movement of
the
gear ****ft lever on the steering wheel column remained very difficult. I
did not remove the cable at the point where it attaches to the ****ft lever
on the steering wheel column.
Is this a common problem with this model vehicle?
Any suggestions you can provide on the cause and corrective action will be
greatly appreciated.
