I have 106000 miles on this deville and have never changed the
coolant. I thought about some type of sealer after reading your
message last night and your ideas on what might be the problem. I did
not know there was a recommended sealer. I had planed to clean out
the system and add new coolant but now wonder if that might make the
problem worse, what do you think? I did check around the water pump
again and it is clean and dry except for a little dirt. Both ends of
the block are dry and no sign of a leak. I did do a cylinder check on
a ford truck that had a cracked head. I removed the radiator cap and
pumped up the system to see if it held pressure and found the cracked
head that way. Is that what you were speaking about?
