'CHECK ENGINE LIGHT' ON A 1988 IROC 5.7 LITRE

I've been having this problem for a long time now that my Check Engine
Light comes right after I turn over the key and stays on. I have tried
a test on the ECM for the code and it is giving me a code of 36. Ihave
a list of codes but it does not have this one on the list.....can
anybody help!!
