You think?  The resistor gets really hot, the old coil style resistor will
get cherry red if it isnt installed in the housing. The dumb design you
are
referring to was designed to keep the resistor from overheating and burn
up!!! makes sense to me!! need to keep it cool, put it in the airflow!!

Had you read my first reply to this post you would have read that the
resistor was updated to a better part and a modification is needed to make
it fit. stop crying
