Hi,
Ok where to start......my cirrus has been great up until a few months ago.
The check engine light came on and then it stalled and wouldnt restart. I
had it towed to the mechanic and he determined that the distrubutor was
bad.
He said the oring had failed and there was oil inside of it. I had him
replace it and also had a tune up since it has 120k miles. It got the
distrubutor, plugs, wires, crankshaft sensor, air filter, pcv valve, valve
cover gaskets/spark plug tube gaskets.......I thought i had everything
covered. It now has an occasional random misfire code. I wanted to get the
timing belt done next but now im hesitant to spend more money. I have gone
1000 miles and the code just reappeared. My gas mileage is down slightly.
I
was getting around 26-29 mpg mostly highway and now im getting around
24-25
with the same driving.. Any ideas.
98 chrysler cirrus
2.5 v-6
120,000 miles
Still on the original alternator, starter, and battery.....i know the
battery needs to be replaced but i just want to see how long it will go
:)
thanks in advance
Larry
