Might be the Jounce Bumpers.  These are tough foam donuts at the top of the

strut that prevent the strut from bottoming at the end of its travel. 
They're cheap, but the struts need to be taken out to replace them.  My 
Chrysler minivan had that problem.  The bumpers (which are normally around

1.5 inches thick) had worn down to 1/2").  My '91 Talon (which is for
sale, 
see #4624942433 on Ebay) probably needs them, too.
