All I can share is I've sat in one and I'm in love with those cars...
I have a magazine article laying around somewhere that has a modern
test of one. They're low-revving long stroke motors that had good
performance for the time. The suspension was somewhat antiquated
compared to Ferrari, but I bet it drives similar to the DB5 I drove.
Trucklike by today's standards, but very sporting for a late 60's car.
That antiquated suspension is easier to maintain than the fancy
Citroen derived setup on the Bora that came after... Maserati made
such attractive cars in the 60's and 70's, and I'm surprised they
still go for reasonable prices. Good luck finding one that is still in
good shape though, as all the ones I've seen up close needed work. Bad
panel fit, rust bubbles, leaks...
Still, I'd love a Ghibli. A Bora would be faster and more 'exotic'
looking, but the lines of the Ghibli are among my absolute
favorites... It's like a Daytona with added tension, one that has been
to the gym but still chain-smokes and chugs Limoncello to cover the
smell.
