Clutch problem

by Hank <hank@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 15, 2007 at 11:06 PM

85 GT 6 cyl 64K miles I purchased this past summer.

Tonight when leaving work something went wrong with my clutch. At
first it was fine but my rear breaks were frozen so I gave it a little
more gas and a fast release of the clutch to try and unfreeze the
beeaks which did work. When getting ready to pull out onto the main
road it would not go into any gear so I had to double clutch it to get
it into first as I was pulling out onto the main road thats when I
noticed it was pushing to the floor very easy where before it took
alot of pressure to get it to the floor also it does not engage until
the petal is all the way up. There is enough fluid in the system and
no leaks also the pin pushing at the top appears to be moving fine so
my guess is either bent fork or bad pressure plate ?

I have replaced the clutch and all that in my 2m4 without removing the
engine just unbolt and slide to the side. What can I expect from the 6
cyl as I have no prior experiance with the 6 ?

Thanks
Hank
