You might want to check fuel pressure, fuel pumps don't last forever.
The V6 fuel pressure is referenced to the manifold absolute pressure. At
idle you would expect around 30psi, quick opening of the throttle should
cause it to jump to close to 40psi. Just turning on the key without
cranking should give 39-40psi and this should not bleed off rapidly.
