If the block is true, then no. Use a good square or steel, criss cross
corner to corner,
down each side, and down the center,  on each head surface of the block,
and
check
with a feeler gauge.  Any more then .002 gap anywhere between steel and
block surface,  I would probably recommend planning.
 Questions to ask yourself, when is the last time it had a valve job?
what's the current compression test readings?  has it had over heating
problems?
