That's got to be wrong since ford produced the 1100 cid (18 liters) GAA
engine,all aluminum Ford 4 cam, 32 valve v-8.
It is a 60 degree V-8, derived from Ford's version of the Merlin V-12
airplane engine, but shortened by the removal of four cylinders, to fit
a tank chassis. It was designed with even firing pulses as a 60 degree
12 cylinder, but it has an irregular firing cadence as an eight,
therefore a 'galloping' idle, like a huge Harley!
It was used in different models of the M4 Sherman.
