2000 Taurus Wagon 24v DOHC Power Steering Pump Leak

by sleepdog@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Apr 26, 2008 at 07:39 PM

Car has almost 80,000 miles on it, runs great, but it looks like the
shaft seals on the power steering pump might be leaking. The back of
the pulley is wet and so is the bottom of the pump. Can this pump be
rebuilt easily and can I get the pulley off with a simple two jaw
puller? How about getting the pulley back on? I think Ford sells
reseal kits for this pump but just wanted to know what my options are
before I buy a reman'd pump that makes a lot of noise. Also need to
change the serpentine belt when I do this.

Thanks for any info!
