how cheap and how simple?  check out turbo city   http://www.turbocity.com

they do a lot with TBI setups- even dual "4's" I think. If you want to 
go the MPI route, check out diyautotune.com for 'megasquirt' electronics 
(I think I'm going to buy one of these soon to use with a converted 
hilborn manifold....)...
