I think you might have more than one problem. I am only going to venture a
guess at the burning smell accompanied by a stall/shut off. I think that
might be the electrical ****tion of the ignition switch. Not a hard or
costly
repair. Just replace the electrical ****tion of the ignition switch not the
key tumblers. The hot smell is from excessive resistance in the switch.
When
it loses contact the car will die just as if you had turned the key and
shut
it off. The stalling or hesitation may be related but I think not. Even
expert mechanics often miss this but it is pretty common in all cars even
the 90's Accords.
