You really might consider taking it out to Nevada, as the climate should
be
much less destructive to mechanical things.  Other than possibly allowing
too much weight to ac***ulate on the soft roof, which you could brace
easily
enough, I doubt that the snow will be a serious problem.

BTW, am I correct that the pictures look like the VW chassis version with
the generous front trunk?
