I own a 99 mercury cougar, v6, 66,000. it's an automatic. when i am
riding down the road and it changes gears it's rough. The best way I can
describe it is it feels like i am riding over them speed bumps. It feels
like it's a vibrating feeling. Also, my car won't start at times. At
times I can go for days and it not give me a problem but when it does
it's
awful. When it don't start it sounds like metal vs. metal. It makes a
screeching sound. Finally, it starts and drives normal. The Dealer****p
that it was initially bought from maintenances it and they said to them
my
car is top shape. How? Last time this did happen I took it there and
they
told to that they could fix it but they weren't sure that what they did
would fix it. ($1100 out of my pocket for speculation) They said that it
is a valve that is making feel that way when changing gears, my starter,
and something else that in order to get to it they have to drop
everything
else out of my car. What do you think? I am not going on speculation.
