"The brake control valve is located below the master
cylinder and bolted to the strut tower. It is actually two separate valves
- 
a pro****tioning valve and a shuttle valve. The shuttle valve allows full 
hydraulic pressure to the rear brakes if the front brakes fail. The 
pro****tioning
valve keeps the rear brakes from locking up under heavy
braking."
