I just purchased a 72 Cougar with a 351 Clevland engine. The car was
from California and has been sitting for a few years and has 60K on
it. When I checked the oil the crank case was contaminated with cool
and and the radiator was low. The original elderly owner was a nice
and trustworthy man who said that it was never overheated and that it
was his mother's car and that he had no problems with it at all. I
understand that that it is a dry intake manifold so the problem would
not be there. Can anyone sugest where I might look? Timing chain
cover? Head? Thanks to any and all replies. I am hoping that someone
will know more about the car's tendencies. Thanks Bill
