I've got an 82 mercury capri that starts up great at first, but if I
shut it down and go to lunch and try to start it, the engine just
turns over and over, doesn't fire, and won't start. The funny thing
is that if I let it sit for 30-60 minutes, it fires right up. At
first I thought it might be flooded (it has a 4-barrel carb), but I
heard tell that it might be a problem with the ignition system, namely
the ignition coils. Can anyone give me some direction as to how I can
figure out what the problem is?
