There are several possible answers but puke won't offer any of them:

1.  Puke's "god" doesn't really exist so it couldn't prevent anything

2.  Puke's "god" exists but is not the "almighty" and "omnipotent" being 
that puke claims so it COULDN'T prevent anything.

3.  Puke's "god" doesn't care about the atrocities committed on children
by 
it's minion priests and is OK with it.  

4.  Puke's "god" approves of the atrocities committed on children by it's 
minion priests and DOESN'T WANT to prevent it.  

5.  Other reasons ????
