Car racing was a geat s****t in Australia during that period. There were
lots of Minis, Alfas, Mazda Capellas, Jags, Mustangs, Camaros, Studebakers
mixing it with locally made Falcons and Holdens. These days it is a
cor****ate monoculture called V8 Supercars in which only Falcons and
Commodores compete.
Not having legs would be a good reason to avoid a manual.
