To anyone thinking of sending a SSN to a person requesting it from USENET,

DON'T!!! Off-brand warranties can be highly problematic. The pricing can
sound great, right up until they go out of business and you are stuck with
a
useless piece of paper (which I have seen on numerous occasions) or you
find
that they argue with you on every single item. Whether Nissan, or Ford, or

Toyota, or whomever, the OEM warranties, though usually higher on cost,
are
more reliable and easier to use (most after-market warranty companies
require you to pay the repairs, then receive reimbursement). That isn't to

say there aren't some decent after-market warranty companies (JM&A is very

good). But you need to be extremely careful. You get what you pay for,
especially when it comes to warranty coverage.
