2000 I30 Stop Light Switch

by "Steve B." <javapro78@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 26, 2008 at 01:52 PM

I have 2000 I30 with about 90K on it. My ****ft lock works
intermittently. Sometimes, when I push the brake pedal, I hear the
usual click and I can move the ****fter and sometimes there is no click
and the ****fter is locked. I read in some posts that the problem could
be the stop light switch. Well, I noticed that when the ****fter stays
locked, the stop lights won't come on. Also, when I eventaully manage
to ****ft from park, the stop lights work intermittently. Do I need to
replace the stop light switch? Is that the one with the pin sticking
out which is released by a small bracket on the brake pedal? How hard
is it to replace?
