I own the SL and have driven the Fit and Civic before buying.  Have a 
good friend who owns the new Civic so I've had a chance to compare more 
than casually.  The Fit is a smaller vehicle with much different 
strengths and weaknesses than the SL.  The Civic is a better vehicle to 
compare to.  It's not a black and white issue.  List your priorities and 
your answer will be pretty obvious.  Each vehicle has a lot going for it 
but they are quite different.
We love our SL, my friend loves his Civic and I have a neighbor who 
loves her Fit.  All good cars if you know what's important to you.
