I used to drive a 89 Olds Delta 88, and I was pleased with the service
the car gave me. It ran well, and I got pretty good gas mileage.
My mother is driving that car now, and I am driving a big Crown Vic.
Doesn't get great gas mileage, and so I was looking at Honda Accords or
Accura vehicles - with the V6 engines.
Someone told me that the Olds Auroras are an equivalent car - in terms
of size, handling and performance. The Aurora has a 3.5 L V-6 or a 4.0
L Northstar-inspired V-8. The MPG figures on the V-8 seem to be equal
to those on the V-6 powered Hondas or Accuras.
I was wondering how the gen I or gen II Auroras have been aging over the
years? Any particular problems with electrical, mechnical or body stuff?
I want to get a decent pre-owned car, and I would like to buy American,
but I also know that Olds went out of business, and I wonder how
difficult (and expensive) it will be to get parts and service for this
car? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated - please respond to the
newsgroup.
