Cooling Problem

by garethwmevans@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Taffy Evans) Oct 31, 2004 at 08:05 AM

Hi all i have a 94 306 xsi 8 valve, but my cooling fan isn't working.
I have shorted it out and it works fine i have flushed the radiator
(was v difficult) and checked the thermostat (by placing in hot water)
to no avail.
The next step was the thermostatic switch i have replaced this 4 times
with still no joy but after consulting my haynes manuel there is such
a thing as a cooling fan resistor.. but only on a twin speed engine
fan...
so
Q1 how do i know whether i have single or twin speed fan?
Q2 if i do have a twin speed where do i find this resistor
Q3 if i have a single speed what do i do next??

many thanks in advance....
