405 mark II heater matrix connection leak

by Wichita <wichitaka@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 18, 2008 at 04:58 PM

Hi Well here we are again! This time with a Mark II 405 TD.
There's just beginning to be an occasional drip, especially on a cold
morning.

I've had the matrix out twice before, BUT on Mark Is, AND I hear
Mark IIs are a pig. I've got the glove box out by removing the hinge
pins (easy) and I can see the metal feeder tubes and the connection to
the matrix. The first thing I want to try is just tightening the
connection or replacing the o rings. But what do I do next?

Some say you can drill out the glove box frame and get further with a
bit of cutting here and there. I'm not against cutting out part of the
lower fascia and gluing it back after.

But I'd love to hear from someone who has actually done this.
The alternative - 12 hours to take out the whole fascia etc etc -- is
beyond me.

Thanks.
