307 SW 1.6 HDi cooling fan goes until battery is dead

by "Lenny" <lenny@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 24, 2008 at 11:29 PM

Hi,
This has happened a number of times over the last couple of weeks on my
2004
307 sw. Today I drove 10 miles and when I stopped I noticed that the
cooling
fan was going at full speed when I have turned the ignition off. I thought

it would stop after a few moments but it only stopped when it had worn the

battery completely down! The car wasn't running hot (or cold). I have
tried
turning the climate control on and off. I also restarted the car and
turned
it off again but it kept going. I then had to jump start the car and drove

100 miles. When I arrived I switched the ignition off and the fan was not
on. Could this be a corroded sensor? Where is the relevant sensor on this
car? Should it stop if I unplug it during one of these episodes?
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Lenny
