Hi Lenny,
I had this problem on a 406 HDI some years ago. From memory it was the
brown
thermostat mounted between the engine and the bulkhead. There are 3
thermostats on the bulkhead, brown does the fans, green does the ECU and
blue
does the gauge.Take the wire off the brown one and ground it while the fan
is
running, if it stops replace the thermostat. Also a bad ground on the
relay
unit can cause this.
