1957 Pontiac rear-end

Last link in the chain.....

I'm building (what I think is) the world's first 56 Safari Gasser
tribute, with a blown 389, Muncie 4-speed and straight axle on
leaves. It's a period car and trying to warp time using mostly period
parts. The last thing needed is a good rear end.

You'll see why I don't want a 9-incher. No, no, no. This baby is all
Pontiac, so I need the rear end out of a 57, which (as you all know)
bolts right on up in the 56.

I'll look at all options, but would prefer one you know the history of
(i.e. out of a running car). If it needs rebuilding (bearings, etc.)
then that's fine. Drum to drum or just the banjo; don't need the
springs. Ratio doesn't matter either 'cause I got to change that any
rate. I'm in Australia, so can arrange ****pping from there to here,
but I'd need someone prepared to pallet and it up nice and tight and
(if needed) to get it to a SoCal ****t for the boat ride over.

Easiest thing, if you have one or know someone that does or whatever,
post up here or e-mail me and we can talk it over.

Looking forward to the tsunami of available rear ends!
