It all depends upon which model years you are comparing.
I recently purchased a 2006, Carrera-S, and in the process, drove a 2003
Turbo, and had the op****tunity to drive a 2007 GT-3, so...hopefully I can
give you some reasonable impressions:
First of all I had an '01 Carrera and the '06 Carrera-S is a quantum leap
forward in almost every area. I found that the '03 Turbo was great once
you
got the turbos spinning up, but was a little soft on the bottom end, not
to
mention that about 1/4 or more of your trunk is lost to the all wheel
drive's front drive components.
The GT-3 is a purpose-built car. Essentially, you've got most of a race
car, tamed just enough to meet DOT requirements. It's loud inside...due
to
removal of much sound insulation; it's lower...and you'll scrape that
front
air dam at almost every driveway entrance/exit; and the suspension is very
stiff. So...you've got about 400 HP, rear wheel drive, big tires, and
mountains of torque. If you can stand the pounding and the noise...not
the
mention the attention you'll get with that high rear wing, enjoy.
Oh...and
they cost @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
$125-140,000...minor detail.
For my $$$, the best buy in the line is a pre-owned '05-06 Carrera-S. You
can save a bundle by letting someone else take the first year or two of
depreciation, and still get a state-of-the-art 911 that's easily the best,
everyday street car the factory has delivered.
