Slave clutch piston problem

by Byron Lane <dontwantany@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 16, 2007 at 03:12 PM

Hi, I have a 1983 and one-half 944. My slave clutch piston had a leak
and I snapped off the head of the top bolt trying to replace the
piston. The piston housing is off now but anyone have a suggestion on
how to get the remaining part of the bolt out of the aluminum housing.
I have tried drilling it out with the hardest drill bit I could get
from an Aerospace parts crib with no success. It is in a difficult
place to drill and when the drill bit slides off the bolt it just eats
the aluminum like it was butter. Any suggestions on how to get it out
or a way to work around it will be appreciated. What about using only
the lower bolt to attach the piston? TIA.
