well, my "proof of concept" worked - replaced the lamp in my daughter's 86
NA clock with a high brightness LED and a 470 ohm series resistor - it all
fit into the original bulb base - I ground the 'lens" off the front of the
LED and angled it towards the plastic light guide (the outer edge of the
clock if you haven't taken one of these clocks apart), and it works great
-
and now I'll never have to change that )(&_)(* bulb again.
So, if anyone want's to copy, I've told you everything you need to know
above - but, a question to the group - do you think there is a market for
a
LED replacement bulb, for say $10? I could make them at that price for
resale....
