Oil Cooler rebuild on '83

by "Andre" <rhombus2@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 7, 2008 at 03:12 AM

I'm currently rebuilding my oil cooler on my '83 944. I came across some
conflicting info and I'm wonder if someone could clarify.

On Clark's Garage page under "Oil Cooler General Information and Seal
Replacement" it talks about adding a plastic washer and using shims. When
I
took mine apart it had no shims or plastic washer. I looked in Haynes
manual and it talked about 2 different procedures, one for '85 and earlier
models where it talks about just to replace the rubber seals and
reassemble.
The other for '85 and newer and it talks about the stuff Clark's website
talks about.

Is Clark's website just considering the '85.5 and up models or is that
write
up good for all 944 model years?

thanks,
Andre
