rubber insert Porsche clutch

by "jolie" <aol@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 17, 2008 at 06:00 PM

I replaced my rubber insert Porsche clutch when my 1983 944 was at 110,000
miles. The rubber insert had broken because of an accident and I drove
the
car like that for about 50,000 miles. I never really knew what the
occasional clunk was till I replaced the worn out clutch.

The Porsche replacement clutch WITH THE RUBBER INSERT lasted 450,000 miles
-
I SWEAR TO GOD. And the clutch was still good when the car eventually
parted ways - so to speak. The car itself lasted 550,000 miles - original

engine and transmission...oh -and I changed the engine oil about every
8000
miles as the manual recommended. The 944 is a TANK - it was my daily
driver
for 20 years and hardly ever let me down.

So if it was me, I would ALWAYS use original Porsche parts.
