the clutch on a 944 won't wear out very fast unless you abuse it, but the
rubber will fail in about 10 years whether you drive or not - I never use
the rubber centered clutch any more - every rubber centered clutch I've
changed (around 5 or 6) failed due to failure of the rubber not due to
wearing out. In every one of those cases, shortly after the rubber failed
(or at the same time), the detents that keep it working when the rubber
goes
bad also failed.
You can do what you want, but this is one thing where the original design
is
NOT the best. as I recall, ****sche no longer offers that clutch either.
