kenwood makes a nice speaker that will fit , or at least they used to - it
needs to be quite shallow though because the window channel runs right
behind the speaker. Why don't you measure your old speaker - it can't be
much deeper. I have some speakers from a 944 somewhere if you want them,
but getting the best speaker that fits (and get one with a separate
tweeter)
will really make a difference. The other thing that helps a lot is to put
6X9 speakers in the back - you can do this without cutting anything if you
lift up the panels to install (may require removing the windows, depending
on how lucky you are) - the smaller speakers can't move enough air to make
music sound anything but a bit tinny.
