I finally got my '83 944 running again. It's been a long road and I like
to
thanks everyone for helping me out.
As some of you may recall my last problem I had was a vacuum like symptom.
It turned out to be a bad AFM (air flow meter). I removed it of the car a
few weeks ago and tested it on the bench and all looked good. I even
installed the jumper cable to the wiper arm.
The symptoms were as flowed:
1- 70% of the time it would start but dies immediately.
2- 20% of the time it starts and runs for about 15-20 seconds.
3- 10% of the time I was able to drive it for about 10-15 minutes without
showing any problems then it would just die, did not mater if at ideal,
low
speed or high speed. Sometimes it would keep running but had no power
juts
like if I took my foot of the throttle but I had it floored. Other times
it
would lung as I was holding the throttle steady.
So anyway, I replaced the AFM and all is fine.
