The tyre pressures will go up by themselves once you get some heat into
=
the brakes and tyres. If you are really hammering the car this can be by
=
up to as much as 0.5 bar on a big car like the 928. Depending on warm up
=
time, time on circuit, and cool down times you may find you actually
wan=
t to let a bit of air out on the day. Keep an eye on the tyre
pressures/=
temperatures in the pits and see how you go.
Best level for the petro=
l tank is full - it will empty itself very
quickly and running out of pe=
trol on the track will make you feel silly
indeed.
Really im****tant=
is to bring plenty of cold water along for yourself, it
is thirsty work=
at the best of times, but in this weather it will really
hurt.
Cheer=
s,
Miles.

Subject: [928uk] Trac=
k Day Preparation this week-end
As it's my first time anywhere ne=
ar a track I have one week-end
to get somethings ready for next Friday. =
I am sure that somewhere in the
past a list has been compiled detailing =
some preparations. I would be
grateful if anyone could re-fresh or point=
to somewhere on the web-site
with a check list (I have probably missed =
it)
This is my first guess :
* Make sure you have your fro=
nt tow loop attached (where
can I expect to find this?)
* Check all f=
luids, (a bit obvious really but don't skip
the gearbox)
* Tyre press=
ures - should they be higher? any
recommendations?
* Is there a *best=
* petrol tank level to aim for?
* Don't forget your helmet and long sl=
eeves
* Don't forget to inform your insurance company
* Do you have=
to tape down your head /tail lights?
and a couple of adviso=
ry points like...
Don't use your handbrake after you've used your brake=
s hard on
the circuit
