Dear All,

After owning my car for some eight years, it was always to hot in the =
summer and the air con never worked right. So I spent a lot of time and =
money fixing it, which now works and keeps me cool (keeped it quite =
about the money to wife).

So below is how I did the work and what it cost. This is the full monty =
jobwith no cutting corners. But I am wanting to keep the car for a long =
time.

Bought the following parts:

Condenser from Serck Intertrunk (0121 717 0007) Birmingham @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 =A3300.00

Reciever Drier from above (Part number MBA 40145) @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 =A353.06

Replaced all the rubber pipes using the extising ends which where in =
good conition from Mend a Hose (01977 603 996) Castleford but most good =
hose shops can do this type of work @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 =A385.00

Expansion Value from Euro Carparts (0113 394 5000) Leeds @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 =A349.62

'O' Rings =A310.00 - =A315.00

Electric Fan Swicth (Part number 92861313101) JCT 600 Leeds

Recondtioned Compressor from Motorclimate UK (0121 766 5006) Birmingham =
@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 =A3344.86

I also bought a flu****ng kit from the above company which costed =
=A3140.00

Please note that you must flush the complete system out using the kit or =
your warranty is void from the company. On flu****ng the system, many =
bits came out of the new pipes and the heater core in the car.
You do not flush the Expansion Value, Reciever Drier and the Compresser.

Then put all the system back together using new Green coloured 'O' rings =
bought.

Refit the Compresser etc, which did take a few weekends and the odd =
night.

The you are ready to have the system regased.

I used a company called A. R. Hepworth in Leeds (07973 665 249) and cost =
about =A3100.00 to have the system regas and quick release ends fitted.

The bloke came to regas my car was called Adam and was very pleased to =
see that I had done all this work which people never do and wonder why =
their system does not work correct.

So to sum up about Aircon, to just regas a 928 and not find out why is =
not working is a bad idea. Most 928's are about 15 - 20 years old with =
most of the items above fitted by the ****sche factory.

If any one would like to now any more information about this, please let =
me know by e mail and I will try to answer your question.

Regards
